CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior defender Megan Reid (Orinda, Calif.) of the Virginia women’s soccer team has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, the organization announced on Thursday (No. 9).

By virtue of being selected for first team All-District honors, Reid is now eligible for Academic All-America honors. To be nominated, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be at least a sophomore academically and completed at least one full year at the nominating institution.

Reid holds a 3.60 GPA in Foreign Affairs and has been a fixture on the back line for the Cavaliers this season and throughout her career. She has helped Virginia post eight shutouts this season and scored the game-winning goal on the road at No. 2 West Virginia earlier this season. She has four assists this season, three of them on game-winning goals.

For her career, Reid has scored a pair of goals, both of them game winners for the Cavaliers. She also has 14 career assists, seven of them on game-winning goals.

Reid and the Cavaliers return to the pitch this weekend, hosting Saint Francis (Pa.) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in a 7 p.m. match at Klöckner Stadium on Saturday (Nov. 11).
