What do you love most about competing as a Virginia Cavalier?
Competing with teammates and coaches who support you on and off the mat and go through the same things as you do day in and day out.

Why did you choose Virginia?
I chose Virginia just because of the overall package that you get here. Not only do we get a great athletic experience here, but one of the best academic experiences in the country. We have all the support we could ever ask for from the athletic department and just the culture around here makes it special. The opportunity we are getting here is one of a kind and it was too much to pass up when I decided to come here.

What will be your lasting memory of your time as a Virginia Cavalier?
More than anything I will remember the bus rides and just the time we spent together. The guys that have come and gone through this program are all just amazing guys and we’ve had a lot of great memories. Our annual Secret Santa is also something little I will miss doing every year.

Who or what motivates you in your sport?
Just everybody who has ever helped me along the way to get to where I am today, from all the way when I was a little kid, to the high school coaches who molded me into the wrestler I am today. My teammates also are a big motivation, and, obviously, my family. Everything they did for me to get here makes motivates me a lot.

What are your goals for the season?
For me I want to make the NCAA tournament and be able to have a chance to make a run there. Just as important though are our team goals, and my goal for us as a team is to win the ACC. We’ve got a special team and we know how much we can do if we all perform to our abilities.

Besides your own sport, what’s a sporting event on Grounds that fans need to experience at least once and why?
Every sport here is worth going to watch, but I would say field hockey or Lacrosse just because I found them interesting watching them for the first time here because I never saw either in Nebraska.

If you could play any other sport, what would it be?
Golf, I mean who doesn’t loving going out and swinging the clubs on a nice spring day?

If you could give any advice to younger athletes entering the sport what would it be?
I would say just to work hard, listen to the people trying to help you, and have fun. I think those apply to both sports and life and general and can help a lot.
