CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia (2-2, 1-0 ACC) women’s tennis team returns to action at home this weekend, jumping back into ACC competition against Syracuse (3-0, 0-0 ACC) in an 11 a.m. match at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

Admission to all home Virginia tennis matches is free to the public.

CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
Virginia has a pair of players ranked in the latest ITA Women’s Singles rankings. Sophomore Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) is ranked No. 48 in singles, while junior Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) comes in at No. 111.

The Cavaliers also have a doubles team in the national rankings as the pairing of Johanson and Kelley is ranked No. 14 in the ITA Women’s Doubles rankings.

A LOOK AT SYRACUSE
Syracuse enters the match with a 3-0 record overall. It’s the first ACC match of the season for the Orange. Syracuse collected its three victories over Niagara, Colgate and Columbia. The Orange defeated Niagara and Colgate by scores of 7-0, while the win over Columbia was a 5-2 win. Syracuse has the No. 17 player in the ITA singles rankings in Gabriela Knutson. In doubles, the pairing of Knutson and Miranda Ramirez is ranked No. 16.

PARKING LIMITED AT BOAR’S HEAD
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for Saturday’s match. Due to a variety of factors including construction as the facility is expanded, both the men’s and women’s tennis team competing, and the Virginia squash program hosting a tournament, parking will be limited.

PROMOTIONS FOR SATURDAY
There will be several promotions surrounding Saturday’s ACC match with Syracuse at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. Free Bodo’s Bagels will be provided to fans. It’s also a CavMan’s Crew day with face painters and a balloon artist on site. The women’s team will also be signing autographs following the match.

UP NEXT FOR THE HOOS
Virginia will return to action on Friday, Feb. 16, when the Cavaliers host No. 10 Michigan at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. Virginia and the Wolverines will face off at 5 p.m.
