CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia swept the top Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID) University Division All-State awards, VaSID announced Friday (April 20).

Tony Bennett was named the 2018 VaSID University Division Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year, while Kyle Guy (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named Player of the Year and De’Andre Hunter (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named Rookie of the Year. In addition, Devon Hall (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Isaiah Wilkins (Lilburn, Ga.) were named to the VaSID University Division All-State Second Team.

Bennett earned the VaSID Coach of the Year honor for the fourth time in the last five seasons after guiding Virginia to the ACC regular-season title, ACC Tournament championship and school-best 31-3 record. The Cavaliers, who were picked sixth in the ACC Preseason Poll and unranked, collected their first No. 1 ranking since 1982. Bennett earned consensus NCAA Division I Coach of the Year honors.

Guy earned third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press (AP) and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) after leading Virginia in scoring (14.1 ppg) and 3-pointers (83). He was named MVP of the ACC Tournament and All-ACC First-Team. Guy reached double figures in 28 contests, including a career-high 29 points at VCU. Guy was also named VaSID All-State First Team.

Hunter, who earned ACC Sixth Man of the Year honors, averaged 9.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 33 games. He reached double figures in 16 games and was Virginia’s leading scorer in six contests. Hunter was named ACC Co-Rookie of the Week following his 22-point performance at Miami on Feb. 18. He banked in a dramatic game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer at Louisville on March 1. Hunter was also named to the All-ACC Freshman Team.

Hall averaged a career-best 11.7 points en route to All-ACC second-team honors. Hall reached double figures in scoring in 23 games and scored a career-high 25 points against NC State.

Wilkins earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year and All-ACC Defensive Team honors after leading the Cavaliers in rebounds (212) and blocked shots (49). Wilkins was named the MVP of the NIT Season Tip-Off after scoring a career-high 19 points against Rhode Island and blocking four shots against Vanderbilt. He tallied a career-high 14 rebounds vs. Boston College.
