Jones, Caldwell-Adams Post Career-Best Mark at USATF Junior Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Freshmen Brittany Jones (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Khyasia Caldwell-Adams (Pocono Summit, Pa.) concluded competition at the USA Track & Field Junior Championships at the Hayes Track at the Haugh Complex in Bloomington, Ind., on Sunday (June 17).
Jones captured a third-place finish in the shot put after posting a career-best mark of 16.09m (52’9.5″). The freshman recorded the career-best mark on her third attempt of the meet, earning her a spot in the finals with the second-best opening round performance.
Jones’ finish qualifies her as the first alternate for the U.S. national team at the IAAF World U20 Championships next month in Finland.
Also recording a career-best performance, Caldwell-Adams posted a jump of 6.27m (20’7″) in the long jump. She finished fourth in the event, recording the career-best jump on her third attempt.
