CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Virginia triple jumper Jordan Scott (Portmore, Jamaica) will compete in the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC Games) on Thursday (Aug. 2) in Barranquilla, Colombia. He will represent Jamaica in the competition, jumping at 6:45 p.m. ET. 

Scott will jump in a field of 12 athletes from 10 countries. 

Earlier this summer, Scott posted a career-best mark of 16.55m (54’3.75″) at the Jamaica National Championships. He captured the national title with the performance and set a UVA record in the event.

Scott also represented Jamaica at the Athletics World Cup where he recorded a mark of 16.31m (53’6.25″) with his third attempt of the meet. The jump placed him fifth in the competition. 

The 2018 CAC Games features 37 countries from the Caribbean and Central America competing across 36 sports. The meet occurs every four years. Cuba enters the competition as the defending champion after winning the 2014 CAC Games in Mexico.
