BARRANQUILLA, Colombia–  Virginia jumper Jordan Scott (Portmore, Jamaica) finished fourth in the triple jump at the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC Games) on Thursday (Aug. 2) in Barranquilla, Colombia.
 
Scott, representing Jamaica in the triple jump, recorded a mark of 16.82m (55’2.25″) with his fifth attempt of the meet. The performance placed him fourth overall and set a UVA record in the event.
 
Scott recorded two additional jumps beyond 16.30m (53’5.75″) at the CAC Games. He posted a mark of 16.35m (53’7.75″) with his fourth attempt of the night, before concluding the competition with a jump of 16.38m (53’9″).
 
Prior to today’s competition, Scott recorded a career-best mark of 16.55m (54’3.75″) in the triple jump at the Jamaica National Championships, winning the national title with the performance. He  also represented Jamaica at the Athletics World Cup, finishing fifth in the competition with a mark of 16.31m (53’6.25″).
