CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The NWSL returned to action this past week, following the break for the Tournament of Nations, with four matches on the docket. Several Hoos made contributions including Veronica Latsko scoring her third goal of the season for the Houston Dash, while Kristen McNabb made the start for Seattle in a 2-0 win at Washington.
 

 
MORGAN BRIAN – CHICAGO RED STARS – MIDFIELDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 4-2   Goals: 0   Assists: 0  Shots: 3   Minutes: 179
Brian and the Red Stars had the week off, making it a two-week hiatus for the squad after last week’s match was postponed due to weather issues that impacted travel. The Red Stars return to action on Friday, hosting North Carolina in an 8 p.m. ET match. 
 
DANIELLE COLAPRICO – CHICAGO RED STARS – MIDFIELDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 18-17   Goals: 1   Assists: 4  Shots: 5   Minutes: 1,485
Colaprico and the Red Stars had the week off, making it a two-week hiatus for the squad after last week’s match was postponed due to weather issues that impacted travel. The Red Stars return to action on Friday, hosting North Carolina in an 8 p.m. ET match. 
 
MAKENZY DONIAK – UTAH ROYALS – MIDFIELDER
Doniak, the 2015 ACC Player of the Year, continues to be sidelined with an ACL injury, but has found a new home with the Utah Royals after a trade two weeks ago by the North Carolina Courage. 
 
VERONICA LATSKO – HOUSTON DASH – MIDFIELDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 16-4   Goals: 3  Assists: 1   Shots: 12   Minutes: 583
Latsko made the start this past weekend as Houston hosted Utah, bet fell to the Royals in a 2-1 decision. The only goal of the match for the Dash came off the head of Latsko, her third goal of the season. Houston will hit the road this weekend, traveling to face Sky Blue FC at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.  
 

 
KRISTEN MCNABB – SEATTLE REIGN FC – MIDFIELDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 16-10   Goals: 0   Assists: 0  Shots: 1   Minutes: 961
McNabb made the start over the weekend, helping the Reign post a 2-0 victory over the Washington Spirit and hold onto second place in the NWSL standings. McNabb played 68 minutes in the start, her 10th of the season. Seattle will return to action this weekend in a 3:30 p.m. ET match at Utah broadcast on Lifetime. 
 

 
BRITTANY RATCLIFFE – UTAH ROYALS FC – MIDFIELDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 10-4   Goals: 2   Assists: 0  Shots: 3   Minutes: 366
Ratcliffe did not see action in the weekend contest at Houston. Her Royals squad will return to action this weekend, facing McNabb’s Reign squad at home in a 3:30 p.m. ET match on Lifetime. 
 
BECKY SAUERBRUNN – UTAH ROYALS FC – DEFENDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 15-15   Goals: 0   Assists: 0  Shots: 1   Minutes: 1,350
Sauerbrunn returned to action for the Royals, playing the full 90 minutes for the Utah club in a 2-1 victory over Houston. Sauerbrunn helped the Royals rally for the victory over the Dash with her defensive effort, holding the Houston club in check throughout the second half as the Royals picked up the come-from-behind win. 

EMILY SONNETT – PORTLAND THORNS FC – DEFENDER
Season Stats – GP-GS: 15-15   Goals: 1   Assists: 1  Shots: 2   Minutes: 1,305
Sonnett returned to action with the Thorns on Sunday afternoon as Portland faced the league-leading North Carolina Courage. The Courage took the 2-1 win over the Thorns, but the Portland club held on to the fourth playoff spot despite the loss as the season works towards its conclusion. Portland will return to action Saturday in Orlando in a 7:30 p.m. ET match.
