CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The No. 7 Virginia (2-0-0) women’s soccer team hits the road for the first time this season for a 7 p.m. contest at William & Mary (0-2-0) on Thursday (Aug. 23) at the Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

• Virginia moved up to No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches poll after a 2-0 opening weekend
• Ayan Adu scored in both matches last weekend, hitting the game-winner vs. Colgate
• Taryn Torres hit the game-winner vs. Cincinnati and added an assist in her first 2018 start
• Freshman Rebecca Jarrett scored her first collegiate goal in the 3-0 win over Cincinnati

NEWCOMERS MAKE AN IMPACT IN OPENING WEEKEND
• All six newcomers played for the Cavaliers in the opening weekend of the 2018 season
• Alexa Spaanstra made her first start vs. Cincinnati, assisting on the game-winning goal
• Rebecca Jarrett scored her first collegiate goal in the 3-0 win over Cincinnati
• Michaela Moran played all 90 minutes in goal vs. Colgate, while Ashlynn Serepca made her    
   first start
• Claire Constant played 89 minutes on the weekend, while Serepca played 81 minutes overall
• McKenna Angotti, who transferred from Northwestern, saw her first action in the shutout of 
   Cincinnati

• Virginia has had a high-powered offense under head coach Steve Swanson, but especially 
   since 2011
• Over the last eight seasons, the Cavaliers lead the nation with 457 goals, one of three teams 
   over 400
• Virginia led the nation in goals scored in 2014 with 88 goals on the way to an NCAA runner-up 
   finish
• UVA also led the nation in goals scored with 78 goals scored throughout the 2013 campaign
