CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –Freshman Alexa Spaanstra (Brighton, Mich.) of the Virginia women’s soccer team (15-4-0) was named to the All-Tournament team by a vote of media and coaches following the conclusion of the annual event on Sunday (Nov. 4).

Spaanstra helped the Cavaliers advance to the semifinals of the ACC Championships with a goal and an assists in Virginia’s win over Louisville in the quarterfinals. Spaanstra hit the equalizer for Virginia in the first half after the third-seeded Cavaliers fell behind on an early goal from the Cardinals. She then assisted on the game-winner in the second half to help Virginia move on to the semifinals at WakeMed Park.

Virginia will find out its opponent for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament when the bracket for the event is announced at 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday (Nov. 5).
