CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Eleven members of the Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will compete with the ACC at the inaugural ACC/Big Ten Challenge this weekend (Nov. 10-11) at Purdue’s Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind. Virginia head coach Todd DeSorbo will serve as the head coach of the ACC women’s team.

The meet will be streamed Friday on BTN2Go beginning at 5 p.m., while Saturday’s competition will be streamed on the Big Ten Network starting at 10 a.m. Links to the video stream and live results are available at VirginiaSports.com. In the Rankings
• The women’s competition will showcase 11 ranked programs with No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 NC State, No. 7 Virginia, No. 8 Louisville, No. 9 Indiana, No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 14 Wisconsin, No. 15 Ohio State, No. 16 Minnesota, No. 20 Duke and No. 21 Florida State sending representatives to the meet.
• The men’s meet will feature No. 2 Indiana, No. 4 NC State, No. 6 Michigan, No. 10 Ohio State, No. 13 Louisville, No. 16 Virginia, No. 17 Georgia Tech, No. 18 Notre Dame, No. 20 Minnesota, No. 21 Florida State and No. 24 Wisconsin as well as Purdue and Pittsburgh, who are tied as the 25th ranked team.

The Cavalier Competitors
• Eleven Cavaliers will compete with the ACC at the meet, tying as the second largest ACC team in attendance behind NC State with 13 competitors. Six females and five males will represent UVA at the meet.
• Junior Morgan Hill (Olney, Md.), sophomores Paige Madden (Mobile, Ala.) and Abby Richter (Henderson, Nev.), and freshman Julia Menkhaus (Charlotte, N.C.) will swim for the ACC women’s team, while junior Sydney Dusel (Naperville, Ill.) will dive in the 3m board and senior Kylie Towbin (New Canaan, Conn.) will compete on the platform.
• Redshirt senior Brendan Casey (Santa Monica, Calif.), senior Zach Fong (Moorestown, N.J.), junior Ted Schubert (Ashland, Va.) and sophomores Keefer Barnum (Louisville, Ky.) and Robby Giller (Wilton, Conn.) will race with the men’s team.
• Head coach Todd DeSorbo will serve as the head coach for the ACC women’s team as NC State’s Braden Holloway coaches the men’s team.

Top Collegiate Swims
• Virginia has 14 individual swims and five relays ranking in the top 10 this season.
• Hill ranks in the top 10 nationally in the 100 and 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Madden (200 and 500-yard freestyle), Casey (1650-yard freestyle), Barnum (200-yard breaststroke) and Menkhaus (200-yard butterfly) also hold top 10 times in events.
• Virginia also ranks in the top 10 in the women’s 200, 400 and 800-yard freestyle relay, women’s 200-yard medley relay, and the men’s and women’s 400-medley relay.

ACC/Big Ten Challenge
• This is the first conference challenge between the ACC and Big Ten. The ACC will have 12 schools represented on its 84 swimmer and 20 diver roster.
• The Big Ten is represented by 76 swimmers and 20 divers from 13 universities.
• The Cavalier women clinched the 2018 ACC Championships, while NC State won the men’s title. Indiana won the Big Ten men’s title, while Michigan topped the women’s Big Ten conference championships.
