SURPRISE, Ariz. –The doubles pairing of senior Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) and freshman Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia) ended the fall with a win on Sunday (Nov. 11), claiming the consolation bracket at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.

The event, hosted by the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex, spanned five days. Kelley and Munera claimed the consolation bracket with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over the tandem of Martino Okalova and Vera Ploner of Tulsa.

After dropping the opening match in doubles, the Virginia duo stormed through the consolation bracket with four consecutive victories – including a win over the fifth-seeded tandem from Kansas – on the way to the finals’ win.

Virginia will return to action in January, opening the spring schedule at home with a double header on January 19 against Quinnipiac and Army at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.
