CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America’s Scholar All-America Team for their academic performance during the 2018 fall semester as announced by the organization on Tuesday (Jan. 22).
The Cavalier women recorded a grade point average of 3.27 for the semester, while the men’s team recorded a 3.14 GPA.
Virginia is one of seven ACC schools to have both its men and women record the academic achievement.
In order to earn Scholar All-America Team honors, programs were required to post a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester.
Virginia will conclude the regular season this weekend, traveling to face North Carolina on Friday (Jan. 25) and NC State on Saturday (Jan. 26).
