Four Cavaliers Place At Appalachian Open
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –Four members of the Virginia wrestling team turned in podium finishes at the Appalachian State Open over the weekend, as more than half of the Cavaliers in competition placed in the event.
Freshmen Justin McCoy (New Paris, Pa.) and Victor Marcelli (Massillon, Ohio) took third-place finishes, while sophomore Denton Spencer (Waverly, Ga.) turned in a fourth-place finish and freshman Krystian Kinsey (Havelock, N.C.) took a sixth-place finish.
In all, seven wrestlers went on the road to compete for the Cavaliers at the weekend event.
Virginia will return to action as a team this weekend with No. 8 NC State at 7 p.m. Friday (Feb. 1) at Memorial Gym on the ACC Network Extra.
