CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Virginia track and field junior Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia) was named the ACC Field Performer of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday (Feb. 6).
 
Foster finished first at the Liberty Flames Invite in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.21m (7’3″). The performance tied UVA’s high jump record set by Herman Moore in 1990 and set a Liberty Indoor Track Complex record.
 
In addition to winning the event, Foster’s performance ranks first in the ACC this season and 12th in the NCAA.
 
Foster and the Cavaliers will return to action on Friday (Feb. 8) sending a split squad to the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson, S.C., and the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
