Virginia Closes Home Stand Against Longwood, Richmond

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia (13-10) will play Longwood (7-16) on Tuesday (March 26) and Richmond (11-8-1) on Wednesday (March 27) to wrap up home a six-game home stint. Both games are scheduled for 4 p.m. starts at Disharoon Park.

TICKET INFORMATION
Fans can purchase tickets at a discounted rate in advance by going online to VirginiaSports.com/Tickets. For all regular season home games, available reserved single-game tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 online or via mobile devices. Tickets are $10 at the sport-specific ticket office on game day. General admission single-game tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the sport-specific ticket office locations on game day.
PROMOTIONS
Tuesday: Nachos at the Disharoon Park concession stands will be $2 throughout the game as part of a season-long $2 Tuesday promotion. The next $2 Tuesday will be popcorn on April 2 against Old Dominion.

• Virginia completed a three-game ACC series sweep of Pittsburgh, the first weekend sweep in league play since taking all three against the Panthers in 2017.
• Freshman Nic Kent cracked his first career home run in the finale, a three-run shot that broke a 2-2 tie and proved to be the difference.

Gelof’s Historic Start
• Cavalier freshman Zack Gelof homered in the sixth inning of Sunday’s finale to extend his reached base streak to 23 games. Since 2000, Gelof and Joe McCarthy are the only two Cavaliers to reach base successfully in their first 23 games of their collegiate careers. McCarthy took his streak to 36 games back in 2013.
• Gelof has used a hit in 19 of the 23 games this season to reach base.
• In addition to the reached base streak, Gelof has hit safely in 12-straight games, the longest of any Cavalier this season.
Player Notes
• Over the last five games, Cayman Richardson is 10-for-16 with a triple and 4 RBI. His triple on Saturday against Pitt was the third by a Cavalier this season.
• Nate Eikhoff ranks second among ACC first basemen with a .995 fielding percentage, one error in 401 chances. His 3-2-3 double play on Saturday helped the Cavaliers escape a bases loaded jam in the sixth inning.
• Brendan Rivoli leads the team and ranks 10th in the ACC in batting with a .352 average. He leads the Cavaliers with 11 multi-hit games.
• Senior Cameron Simmons has reached base safely in nine-straight games and is slugging .867 over his last five games thanks to three doubles and a home run. Through nine ACC games he’s 15-for-33 (.455) – third highest average in the league – and slugging .788.
