CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The No. 19 Virginia women’s tennis team (16-6, 8-6 ACC) will be the seven seed in the upcoming ACC Women’s Tennis Championships held April 17-21 at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

By virtue of earning the seventh-seed, the Cavaliers earned a first-round bye in the annual event. Virginia will play at 5 p.m. ET on Thursday (April 18) and face the winner of Tuesday’s opening-round match between No. 10 seed Notre Dame and No. 15 seed Pittsburgh.

The Cavaliers defeated both teams in the regular-season with Virginia taking a 7-0 victory over Pittsburgh on the road in March before taking a 5-2 win over Notre Dame at home two weeks ago.

Duke, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, awaits the winner of Thursday’s second-round match.
