USTFCCCA Honorees

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams had 12 Cavaliers named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, the organization announced on Monday (July 22).
 
UVA had eight Cavaliers receive the academic honor from the women’s team as Jade Baker (North Richland Hills, Texas), Mia Barron (Minnetonka, Minn.), Marija Bogavac (Mojkovac, Montenegro), Bridget Guy (Greensburg, Pa.), Brittany Jones (Bloomfield, Conn.), Ciara Leonard (Elkins Park, Pa.), Caitlin Mautz (Doylestown, Pa.) and Eva Mustafic (Zagreb, Croatia) were selected for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. Jake Dixon (Falmouth, Maine), Hilmar Jonsson (Reykjavik, Iceland), Nace Plesko (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Jordan Willis (Willamsburg, Va.) earned the academic honor from the men’s team.
 
Additionally, both the Virginia men’s and women’s teams were recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honorees.
 
To qualify for the USTFCCCA Track and Field All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of two athletic standards. For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org. For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).

For a team to qualify, a squad must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 during the most recent grading period.
