Virginia Turns In Strong First Day At UVA Fab 5
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Members of the Virginia women’s tennis team turned in a strong performance on Friday (Oct. 11) in the first day of action at the UVA Fab 5 Tournament played at the Snyder Tennis Center.
The Cavaliers won five-of-six singles matches on the day against players from Maryland and William & Mary. Virginia also won three-of five doubles matches on the day against doubles tandems from the Terrapins and Tribe.
Winning their singles matches in straight sets on Friday were Vivian Glozman (Bellevue, Wash.), Hunter Bleser (New Braunfels, Texas) and Camille Favero (Sacramento, Calif.). Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia) both battled back to win their matches in three sets.
The pairings of Glozman and Gullickson, Bleser and Rosie Johanson (Vancouver, British Columbia), and Johanson and Munera all won their doubles matches on the day.
Competition will continue on Saturday (Oct. 12) with doubles matches beginning at 9 a.m. and singles matches beginning at noon. All matches are being played at the Snyder Tennis Center and admission is free to the public.
