CoSida Academic All-District Teams

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Junior Joe Bell (Wanaka, New Zealand) earned Academic All-District honors from the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was one of 11 student-athletes from District III (North Carolina, Tennessee & Virginia) to be selected.

The 2019 Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

A Psychology major, Bell has started every game of his Virginia career, a total of 54 games. He has been on the field for all but seven minutes of action this season. Bell has tallied eight points (2g, 4a) in 2019 including the game-winning goal against Notre Dame back on Sept. 28. All four of his assists this season have come in league play, the third most among his ACC cohorts.

Bell has twice been listed on the ACC Academic honor roll and is a two-time ACC Academic Team honoree in his time at Virginia.
