ORLANDO, Fla. – For the second day in a row Virginia women’s tennis freshman Natasha Subhash (Fairfax, Va.) picked up a straight-set victory, defeating No. 23 Adriana Reami of NC State by a score of 6-2, 6-2 on day two at the Winter Wild Card Playoff.

Subhash defeated No. 25 Chloe Beck of Duke in the first day of action before the win over Reami on day two. She will face No. 4 Sara Daavettila of North Carolina on Thursday (Dec. 19). Subhash is the No. 30 player in the nation in the ITA women’s singles rankings after the fall portion of the season.

The competition runs through Dec. 21 with a total of nine wild cards into 2020 USTA Pro Circuit tournaments on the line. The 16 players selected for the competition include eight men’s players and eight women’s players. On the women’s side, the wild cards must be used prior to the US Open. The winner receives two main draw wild cards into W25 events. The runner-up receives a main draw wild card into a W25 event, while the third-place finisher receives a main draw wild card to a W15 event.

Also selected to compete in the event on the women’s side are Duke’s Beck, Daavettila and No. 8 Alexa Graham of North Carolina, No. 6 Abigail Forbes of UCLA, No. 27 Mia Horvit of South Carolina, Reami of NC State and No. 32 Christina Rosca of Vanderbilt.
