CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –Senior Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia) was named the ACC Field Performer of the Week for his record-setting jump at the Virginia Tech Challenge, the league office announced on Wednesday (Feb. 26).
 
Foster cleared 2.26m (7’5″) on his second attempt to top the UVA record of 2.21m (7’3″) that he shared with Herman Moore. He cleared the prior Virginia record twice during the series, topping a height of 2.22m (7’3.25″) on his second attempt before capturing his career-best mark two jumps later.
 
Foster’s mark leads the ACC and ranks fourth in the NCAA this season.
 
The honor is the first of the season for Foster. He returns to action at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Notre Dame, Ind. Competition begins on Thursday (Feb. 27).
