Bowerman Watch List

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior Jordan Scott (Portmore, Jamaica) has been named to the Bowerman Watch List, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Thursday (March. 5).

The Bowerman, which debuted in 2009 and is named after former University of Oregon coach Bill Bowerman, is presented annually by the USTFCCCA to the most outstanding male and female NCAA track and field athletes in the nation.

Scott is the fourth Cavalier in program history to be named to the watch list, making his debut after a record-setting indoor season. He joins former Cavaliers Robby Andrews (2012), Filip Mihaljevic (2017) and Henry Wynne (2017).

Scott recorded a career-best jump of 17.02m (55’10.25″) at the Tiger Paw Invitational (Feb. 14-15), surpassing the ACC and UVA triple jump record that he set in 2019. His jump ranks 17th all-time in NCAA history.

The NCAA-leader in the triple jump, Scott cleared 54 feet in the event seven times throughout season in addition to reaching 55 feet on three occasions. He is the lone NCAA triple jumper to reach a mark of 55 feet or beyond during the 2020 indoor campaign.

Scott won his third ACC indoor title in the triple jump at the 2020 ACC Championships and was named the men’s ACC Field Performer of the Meet. He also earned second-team All-ACC honors in the long jump, placing fifth with a jump of 7.56m (24’9.75″).
