Virginia Wraps Up Play at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
Hilton Head, S.C. – The Virginia women’s golf team completed its final round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Sunday, finishing 17th in a field that every team was ranked in the top-40 of the current Golfstat rankings. UVA shot 26-over 306 during the final round for a three-day total of 67-over 919. No. 7 Wake Forest won the tournament by 26 strokes at 3-over 855.
Freshman Virginia Bossi was the Cavaliers top finisher, placing 23rd at 9-over 222. She shot 3-over 74 during all three rounds. Sophomore Riley Smyth (Cary, N.C.) was 56th at 230, senior Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was 75th at 237, junior Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) was 79th at 238 and sophomore Haeley Wotnowsky (Wake Forest, N.C.) was 81st at 239.
Wake Forest’s Emilia Migliaccio took medalist honors at 1-under 212.
The Cavaliers return to action March 27-29 when they compete in Phoenix, Ariz., at the PING/Arizona State Invitational.
