CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia first-year Wes Porter (Kansas City, Mo.) was named the ACC Freshman Performer of the Week for the third time this season, the conference office announced on Wednesday (Oct. 21).

Porter helped the Cavaliers to their third team win at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational in Earlysville. His 8k time of 24:10.2 placed him third overall at the meet as the team competed against Duke and Virginia Tech. For the third consecutive meet, Porter finished second for the Cavaliers and was the top freshman runner in the competition.

Porter also earned the honor this season for his performance at the Virginia Invite (Sept. 25) and the Wolfpack Invite (Oct. 7).

Porter and the Cavaliers will compete at the ACC Championships at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., on Oct. 30.
