Danielle Collins at the 2021 Australian Open
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Danielle Collins, a two-time NCAA singles champion during her career with the Virginia women’s tennis program (2014-2016), opens play at the Australian Open on Tuesday when she faces Ana Bogdan of Romania. Collins is currently No. 46 in the world WTA rankings.
Collins’ best showing at a Grand Slam was a run to the semifinals of the 2019 Australian Open.

2/9 – 1st Round – Collins defeated No. 93 Ana Bogdan of Romania, 6-3, 6-1. She will face the No. 6 seed, Karolina Pliskova, in the second round. Collins defeated Pliskova in straight sets last week in the Yarra Valley Classic.
2/10 – 2nd Round – Collins fell 7-5, 602 to Pliskova.
