Charlottesville, VA – The No. 5 Virginia women’s golf team returns to the Sunshine State this weekend for the Moon Golf Invitational hosted by Louisville. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be contested at the par-72, 6,383-yard Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla., on Feb. 14-16.

The first two rounds will feature shotgun starts at 8 a.m. from the first and 10th tees. Tuesday’s final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 7:40 a.m.

A total of 18 teams will compete at the tournament. In addition to the Cavaliers and host Cardinals, the field includes (Golfweek rankings): Alabama, No. 12 Arkansas, No. 11 Auburn, Augusta, UCF, Coastal Carolina, No. 13 Florida, No. 21 Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Illinois, No. 10 LSU, No. 15 Miami, North Carolina, No. 16 Oklahoma, No. 3 South Carolina and Texas A&M.

UVA will field the same lineup that won the team’s season-opening UCF Challenge – senior Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.), junior Riley Smyth (Cary, N.C.), sophomores Virginia Bossi (Como, Italy) and Celeste Valinho (Jacksonville, Fla.) and freshman Jennifer Cleary (Wilmington, Del.).

Lillie and Valinho led the Hoos with third-place finishes at the UCF Challenge.
