Keating Named ACC Co-Wrestler of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Jake Keating (Naperville, Ill.), a redshirt junior on the Virginia wrestling team, has been named ACC Co-Wrestler of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday (Feb. 16).

Keating defeated then No. 11 Kennedy Monday of North Carolina over the weekend in Virginia’s dual with No. 14 North Carolina. The Virginia wrestler trailed Monday by a score of 11-3 in the second period before putting together a furious rally to erase the deficit and claim an 18-15 decision over Monday.

It is the second time this season Keating has earned the weekly honor. He was first named ACC Wrestler of the Week on January 19 after he upset No. 10 Thomas Bullard of NC State in the Cavaliers’ dual with the Wolfpack.
