CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 4 Virginia men’s tennis team (6-2, 0-0 ACC) opens Atlantic Coast Conference play when it faces Boston College (0-0, 0-0 ACC) on Friday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS

  • Virginia moved up to No. 4 in this week’s ITA team rankings after beginning the season ranked No. 22. Individual singles and doubles rankings have not been updated since the preseason

  • von der Schulenburg suffered his first singles loss at Indoors, being edged 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-3 by Illinois’ Zeke Clark. He started his collegiate career with seven-straight singles victories, including three wins over ranked opponents

NOTING BOSTON COLLEGE

  • Boston College went 2-5 in seven matches before the remainder of the 2019-20 season was canceled due to COVID-19, registering wins against Charlotte on the road and Merrimack at home
  • Virginia is 19-0 against Boston College, including a 6-1 victory last season

ON THE HORIZON

  • Virginia will be on the road again next weekend, playing at No. 17 NC State on Friday, Feb. 26 and No. 13 Wake Forest on Sunday, Feb. 28
