CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams had 29 Cavaliers named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, the organization announced on Thursday (July 22).

Additionally, both the Virginia men’s and women’s teams were recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honorees. The women’s team’s cumulative grade point average was 3.446 while the men’s squad posted a mark of 3.437.

Here are the Cavaliers who received the honor:

Men – Kane Aldrich, Brenton Foster, Derek Johnson, Ty Kunzman, Harry Monroe, Randy Neish, Owayne Owens, Wes Porter, Claudio Romero, Jordan Willis and Sam Young.

Women – Kayla Bonnick, Kiera Bothwell, Maria Deaviz, Ellie Desmond, Rebecca Hawkins, Anna Jefferson, Brittany Jones, Andrenette Knight, Helena Lindsay, Maya Maloney, Michaela Meyer, Hannah Moran, Eva Mustafic, Zoe Rice, Alahna Sabbakhan, Nadia Saunders, Jada Seaman and Keara Seasholtz.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA Track and Field All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and met athletic standard. For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.

For outdoor competition, the student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West for the most recent season.

For a team to qualify, a squad must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 during the most recent grading period.
