Forward Diana Ordoñez with the Virginia women’s soccer team has been named the ACC’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Tuesday (Sept. 28).
Ordoñez came up big for the Cavaliers last week in helping Virginia go undefeated with wins over No. 2 Duke and at NC State. The junior forward hit the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over the second-ranked and undefeated Blue Devils on Thursday night. It was her 11th game-winning goal of her career and the fourth of the season. She then assisted on the game-winning goal in the 90th minute at NC State in a 2-1 victory over the Wolfpack.
The wins helped keep the Cavaliers undefeated in ACC play as Virginia improved to 10-1-0 on the season and 3-0-0 in conference play. Virginia will return to action on Sunday (Oct. 3) when the Cavaliers travel to face North Carolina in a 1 p.m. match on ACC Network.
