Emma Navarro Competing at Mercer Tennis Classic

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore Emma Navarro is competing this week at the Mercer Tennis Classic being held Oct. 18-25 in Macon, Ga.

Navarro is playing singles at the USTA Pro Circuit 80K event after being awarded a wildcard into the main draw.

Navarro opened the tournament with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over fellow wildcard Haily Baptiste. On Thursday, she was edged 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 by fellow American Louisa Chirico in the Round of 16.

Navarro came into the week with a WTA ranking of No. 289. She reached a career-best 282 ranking earlier this month.
