ORLANDO, Fla. – Sophomore Emma Navarro won the singles title on Sunday (Nov. 7) at the ITF World Tennis Tour 25K tournament that was held this week at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Navarro, the No. 3 seed in the singles draw, opened play with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win against Junri Namigata of Japan on Wednesday. On Thursday, she topped qualifier Adriana Reami 7-5, 6-3 in the Round of 16. After Friday’s action was rained out, Navarro topped qualifier Moyuka Uchijima 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday in the quarterfinals and then took out the No. 2 seed Su Jeong Jang 6-1, 7-6 (5). She faced top-seed Allie Kiick (ranked No. 244) in Sunday’s final. Kiick won the first set 6-3 but Navarro rallied to win the second two 6-2, 6-3 to win the title.

Navarro came into the tournament ranked No. 287 in the WTA world rankings. This was her first ITF World Tennis Tour singles title. She won a Futures doubles title in Charleston in 2017.
