CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia swimming & diving team sends five to compete at the 2021 Toyota US Open from Wednesday (Dec. 1) through Saturday (Dec. 4) at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Wednesday finals will begin at 6 p.m. with the 800-meter freestyle. Thursday through Saturday, prelims begin at 10 a.m. and finals start at 7 p.m.

A LOOK AT THE MEET

  • Virginia will send seven student-athletes to the long course event.
  • Reilly Tiltmann will represent the Cavalier women.
  • UVA’s men’s team will send Jack Aikins,  Jan Karolczak, August Lamb and Noah Nichols.
  • Tiltmann enters with the eighth-best time in the 200-meter backstroke, 10th in the 100-meter backstroke, 12th in the 100-meter butterfly and 23rd in the 50-meter freestyle.
  • Aikins has qualifying times that rank second in the 200-meter backstroke, third in the 100-meter backstroke and 10th in the 50-meter freestyle.
  • Lamb enters with the fifth-fastest time in the 50-meter freestyle.
  • Karolczak has the ninth-fastest time in the 200-meter freestyle
  • Nichols ranks second in the 200-meter breaststroke and third in the 100-meter breaststroke.

Virginia’s Kate Douglass and Emma Weyant, along with associate head coach Blaire Bachman, will travel to the FINA Short Course World Championships in Abu Dhabi, December 16-21.
