Virginia Hosts Pitt Friday To Open ACC Schedule
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling team (6-2, 0-0 ACC) jumps into conference action this weekend when the Cavaliers host Pittsburgh (6-2, 0-0 ACC) in a 7 p.m. dual at Mem Gym on Friday (Jan. 20).

Friday night’s dual will be available for stream on ACCNX which is available through the ESPN app and at ESPN.com to customers who have the ACC Network as part of their television package. Fans can also get updates by following the program’s official Twitter account (@UVAWrestling).

• Virginia enters ACC competition with a 6-2 dual record after going 3-1 last weekend at the Virginia Duals.
• Michael Battista (197) was named ACC Co-Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday after going 4-0 at the Virginia Duals with wins over No. 11 Jaxon Smith of Maryland and No. 29 Jake Koser of Navy.
• The Hoos now have seven wrestlers in the individual rankings with Garrett Grice (No. 33 – 133), Brian Courtney (No. 29 – 141) and Battista (No. 24 – 197) all entering the InterMat rankings this week.
• It’s only the second dual at home for the Hoos this season and first since a matchup against No. 15 Northwestern at Mem Gym on November 20.
