Virginia Set For Mountaineer Invite At App State Saturday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling team continues to compete on the road this weekend as members of the squad will head to App State to compete in the Mountaineer Invitational & Open. Wrestling is set to begin at 9 a.m. in Varsity Gym in Boone, N.C.

HOOS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers continued to have three wrestlers in the individual rankings according to InterMat heading into week two of the season. Justin McCoy leads the way as the No. 9 wrestler at 174 pounds. The Gioffre brothers are also ranked with Jack coming in at No. 21 at 141 pounds and Michael ranked No. 31 at 149 pounds.

  • Virginia is coming off an opening weekend that saw eight Cavaliers place at the Southeast Open.

ON THE HORIZON FOR VIRGINIA

Virginia continues to compete on the road next weekend as the Cavaliers will step into dual action at the Armbar In The Armory event hosted by Journeyman Wrestling. The Hoos will face LIU and Buffalo on Friday, Nov. 17, in Albany, N.Y.
