CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Three members of the Virginia wrestling team hit the road this weekend to compete at the Cleveland State Open hosted by Cleveland State at Woodling Gymnasium.

NOTING THE HOOS IN COMPETITION

  • Transfer Sammie Hayes is slated to see if his first action of the season for the Cavaliers after joining the program following a redshirt season at Illinois last year.
  • Roller is in action for the first time since the opening weekend when he competed at the Southeast Open (11/4).
  • Cagle is in action for the first time since a fourth-place finish at the Mountaineer Invitational (11/11).
  • Virginia is hoping to have a repeat of last year’s performance when Michael Battista claimed the 197-pound championship at the Cleveland State Open to lead a trio of Hoos in that competition.
