Five Cavaliers Garner NWCA Scholar All-America Honors

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Five members of the Virginia wrestling team earned Scholar All-America honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association it was announced by the organization with the release of its annual recognition.

The five Cavaliers honored were Nick Hamilton, Krystian Kinsey, Justin McCoy, Kyle Montaperto and Nick Sanko. McCoy earned the honor for the fifth consecutive season while the other four wrestlers all received the honor for the first time.

A total of 338 scholar-athletes from 78 institutions across the nation are being recognized for their outstanding achievements.

“It is a privilege to honor these exceptional athletes for their remarkable accomplishments,” said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. “Congratulations to all the awardees, and we extend our best wishes for their continued success in their academic and athletic endeavors.”
