No. 4 Virginia Hosts Howard To Close Non-Conference Slate
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 4 Virginia women’s soccer team (6-0-0) returns home to close out non-conference play against Howard (1-2-3) in a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday (Sept. 8).
It is the program’s annual Mental Health Awareness game as the Hoos partner with Katie’s Save to raise awareness of and erase stigmas surrounding mental health issues.

- Victoria Safradin posted her fourth shutout of the season on Thursday night in the win at VCU.
- Lia Godfrey made her first start of the season against the Rams after missing the 2023 season.
- The UVA offense has been in a full press with 96 shots and 15 goals scored this season. Nearly half of the shots have been on goal as the Cavaliers average almost three goals per game to date
- Cagle has been efficient as the UVA goal leader with 8-of-16 shots on frame through six games. She has converted five of those shots into goals and hit three game winners this season.
- Yuna McCormack was called up to the U20 USWYNT for the U20 Women’s World Cup currently underway in group play in Colombia and begins knockout play next Wednesday
- The Cavaliers close out non-conference play against Howard with the program’s annual Mental Health Awareness game and jump into ACC play on the road at Miami on Thursday
