2021 – Named to 2021 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. 2020 – Appeared  in all 10 of UVA’s games with six starts … made two stops in the season-opening win over Duke … made first UVA start at No. 1 Clemson … notched a sack at No. 11 Miami … made three stops in the win over No. 15 North Carolina … made two stops in the win over Louisville … recorded three stops and a sack in the win over Boston College … made three stops against Virginia Tech … named to 2021 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL
A 2019 graduate from James Madison, where he appeared in 39 career games for the Dukes with 23 career starts. The defensive lineman made 52 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble, a pass breakup and one blocked kick in 2019. Atariwa recorded 87 career tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks while working primarily in the middle of the line.
