CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s Beth Potter (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) was named the ACC Player of the Week for her performances during the week of March 9, 1998. The senior notched 14 points in a pair of contests this week against two ranked teams.

The Cavaliers improved to 2-0 on the season as they defeated #15 Old Dominion 13-1 and then-#10 Georgtown 16-8. Potter scored seven points in each game, including four goals and three assists in the Old Dominion contest and three goals and four assists against the Hoyas. Her 7.0 points-per-game leads the conference.

Potter ranks eighth all-time at Virginia in scoring with 139 points. She ranks third all-time at Virginia in assists with 57.

The Cavaliers, ranked third in this week’s lacrosse poll, host UMBC on Monday and travel to sixth-ranked Maryland on Wednesday.
