CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) – Adam Hall scored 27 points, including 5-for-5 from 3-point range Wednesday, and Chris Williams added 21 as Virginia beat Hampton 116-66.

Hampton (0-4), which lost to No. 9 North Carolina 86-79 Monday, kept the game close for about the first seven minutes. Hall hit a 3-pointer with 13:14remaining to tie the score at 13 and set off a 29-9 Cavalier run that effectively ended the game.

Hall had 10 points in the run, and Chezley Watson added 12 of his 17 points as the Cavaliers (3-2) took a 39-22 lead with 4:48 left. After leading 55-27 atthe half, Virginia ran its lead to as many as 56 points in the second half.

The Cavaliers were 15-for-29 (51.7 percent) on 3-pointers with Williams hitting 3 of 4. Donald Hand added 17 points and six assists, and Greg Lyons 10points.

Torrey Farrington had 20 points for the Pirates, who were plagued by 21 turnovers that led to 28 Virginia points.

Virginia made the most of every opportunity, shooting 54.7 percent (35-for-64) from the field and 31-for-35 (88.6 percent) from the line.

Hampton shot only 34.8 percent (24-for-69) from the field and 66.7 percent (14-for-21) from the line.
