CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) – Monick Foote and Lisa Hosac scored 20 pointsapiece, and No. 17 Virginia beat Florida State 73-55 to give coach Debbie Ryanher 500th career victory.

Virginia (19-7, 12-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) trailed 25-21 at halftime,but crept back midway through the final 20 minutes on strong 3-point shooting.

Hosac hit a 3-pointer to put Virginia up 40-39 with 12:15 remaining. TheCavaliers then went on a 15-1 run that put the game out of reach.

During the decisive run, Erin Stovall hit consecutive 3-pointers and alsomade two free throws. Virginia led in double figures the rest of the way, andby as many as 24.

Foote was 3-of-7 from long range, and Hosac hit 2-for-2. All seven ofVirginia’s 3-pointers came after the break.

Stovall added 12 points, and Demya Walker 10 points and 11 rebounds for theCavaliers. Virginia scored 20 points off turnovers, and had 15 second-chancepoints.

Tamara Gracey had 15 points and Brooke Wyckoff 13 for the Seminoles (7-19,2-14).

Ryan, in her 22nd year as coach of the Cavaliers, joins Pat Summitt ofTennessee, Jody Conradt of Texas and Kay Yow of North Carolina State with 500career victories at one school.

A six-time ACC coach of the year and 1991 Naismith national coach of theyear, Ryan entered this season with a 481-165 career record.
