Philadelphia, Pa.-The Cavalier wrestling team took a full contingentto Pennsylvania this weekend and came away with a fifth place finish atthe Keystone Classic. A second Virginia team also placed in the top tenwith a tenth place finish in the event. Matt Roth’s (Wescosville, Pa./Parkland)third place finish helped the Cavaliers take fifth while Ryan Painter (Rainelle,W.V./Greenbriar) also took third in the prestigious tournament.Roth went 4-1on the weekend, including two major decisions and a pin inhis run to the third place at the 125-pound bracket. Also competing forthe Cavaliers at 125 was Bob Seidel (Wall, N.J./Wall), who went 1-2. FourCavaliers competed at the 133-pound bracket, including Mike Pacillo (Kenmore,N.Y./Kenmore West), who took fifth place with a 2-2 record. His opponentin the 5/6 match was teammate Jason Bernd (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial)who went 3-3 en route to a sixth place finish. David Takseraas (Seaford,N.Y./Seaford) and Toby MacDonald (Venice, Fla./Venice) also competed forthe Cavaliers, both going 1-2. Jon Frent (Wayside, N.J./Ocean Township)took a fourth place finish at the tournament, going 3-2 at 141. He wasjoined in that bracket by Joey Legg (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester), who went2-2. John Pozniak (State College, Pa./State College) and John Christopher(Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) both competed for the Cavaliers at the149-pound bracket, with Pozniak going 1-2 and Christopher going 0-2. TheCavaliers also had two participants at the 157-pound bracket, includingJohn McManus (Oakton, Va./Oakton) and Greg Francesca (Union, N.J./BlairAcademy). McManus went 0-2 while Francesca went 1-2. Jim Harshaw (CranberryTownship, Pa./Seneca Valley) placed in his second consecutive tournament,taking a fifth place finish this weekend on the strength of a 4-2 record,including a pin and a pair of major decisions.Three Cavaliers competed in the 174 bracket, including Jimi Massey (Williamsport,Md./Williamsport), John Qualter (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn), and RobbieMoutoux (Vienna, Va./George C. Marshall). Massey and Qualter went 1-2 whileMoutoux went 0-2. Craig Fenstermaker (Hilton Head,S.C./Northampton (Pa.))took fourth place at the event with a 3-2 record, including two major decisionsand an overtime victory in criteria. Fenstermaker has also placed in twoconsecutive tournaments. He was joined in the 184 bracket by Ryan McGrath(Blairstown, N.J./Blair Academy), who went 1-2. Richie Moutoux (Vienna,Va./George C. Marshall) was the lone Cavalier representative at the 197pound bracket, taking sixth place. Three Cavaliers competed in the heavyweightdivision, including Painter, who took third place. Jason Majestic (Patchogue,N.Y./Medford) took fifth place and Jeremy Wilkins (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft)went 1-2. The Cavaliers travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the LasVegas Invitational, which will be held Dec. 4-5.
