CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theeighth week’s rankings for the NCAA Division I lacrosse field for 1999.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.

The Maryland Terrapins remained on top of the IWLCA poll for theninth consecutive week, followed by the Virginia Cavaliers. The top tenall remained the same, but there was some major shuffling as Penn Statejumped four spots to #3 following both of their wins this week.

Games this week, the last week of the regular season, that involvethe top-20 teams, include Maryland hosting a pair of top-10 foes in #6Princeton on Wednesday and and #10 Loyola on Saturday. Our nation’s capitalwill witness #8 Georgetown travelling to #14 George Mason on Tuesday. OnWednesday #2 Virginia will host #10 Loyola and #11 Yale battles #12Rutgers. On Thursday #9 Dartmouth travels down Tobacco Road, facing #7North Carolina before taking on #4 Duke on Saturday. #6 Princeton will face#20 Brown in the Ivy League finale on Saturday as well. In addition, theAmerica East Championships will be taking place at Hofstra this weekend,and #13 Delaware is the top seed followed by #17 Boston University in the#2 slot.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theseventh week’s rankings for the NCAA Division II lacrosse field for 1999.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.

The West Chester Golden Rams, the seven-time defending PSACChampions, remain at the top of the eighth week’s poll for 1999. They werea unanimous choice again. Stonehill, a first-year varsity program, makestheir first-ever appearance in the top-10.

Games this week in top-10 action include two conferencechampionships as #1 West Chester goes after the Golden Rams’ eighthconsecutive PSAC title against #4 Bloomsburg and #10 Stonehill takes on St.Michael’s in the NE-10 Championship game.

Eighth Weekly Division III Women’s Lacrosse Poll Released

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theeighth weekly ranking for the NCAA Division III lacrosse field for 1999.Rankings will be released weekly on Monday afternoons.

The College of New Jersey Lions remained atop the polls for theninth week, but again the Middlebury Panthers garnered a first place vote.Although the top-20 remained the same, conference tournaments and gamescaused the top ten to have a shakeup once again as CAC Champion St. Mary’sjumped to #6 and NESCAC-rep Amherst moved up a couple rungs to #7.

In games involving top-20 teams this week, the final week of theregular season, the always-tough NESCAC will see three games featuring twotop-20 teams. #2 Middlebury and #5 Williams square off on Wednesday, andon Saturday four NESCAC top-10 teams will be in action as #4 Bowdoin hosts#10 Trinity and #5 Williams welcomes #7 Amherst. A major Mid-Atlantic gametakes place on Friday as #11 Rowan faces off against #19 Drew.
