Field Hockey Stars Crucial to US National Team Victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The United States national field hockey team stayed unbeaten with a 2-0 shutout of India today in the USA Invitational Tournament held in Springfield, Massachusetts. Cavaliers Michelle Vizzuso (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex) and Lori Mastropietro (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock) were crucial to the United States defense as Mastropietro anchored the defense as the team’s sweeper.
Mastropietro earned her 10th international cap in the game. The United States (2-0) will take on England (2-0) in the final round robin game of the tournament tomorrow. The championship game will take place at Springfield College on Sunday at 5:00 pm.
