CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) – Monick Foote scored 22 points – 18 in the firsthalf – as No. 23 Virginia routed Radford 96-56 Monday night.
The Cavaliers (6-2) ran off the first seven points of the game and putRadford into a double-digit deficit after just over five minutes of play. TheHighlanders were never able to mount a comeback, trailing by 23 at halftime.
Erin Stovall scored 18 points for Virginia, and DeMya Walker had 14 points,eight rebounds and eight assists. Stovall and Lesley Brown each had sixrebounds for the Cavaliers, who shot 51 percent from the floor and outreboundedRadford 45-32.
Radford (1-9) was led by Jennifer Grant with 22 points and seven rebounds.Lorrie Mitchell added 19 points.
