CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia Athletic Director Terry Holland has announced the starting times for Virginia’s first five games of the 1998 football season.

The Cavaliers open their 1998 season at Auburn on September 3. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN. UVa’s home opener with Maryland on September 12 is scheduled to begin at noon and the Cavaliers’ home game with Clemson on September 19 at 3:30 p.m. Virginia’s game at Duke on September 26 is scheduled to begin at noon and UVa’s home game with San Jose State on October 3 at 1:00 p.m. The Maryland and Duke games are scheduled to be televised by the ACC/JP Sports Network, and the Clemson game is scheduled to be televised by ABC. The starting times for Virginia’s other six games during the 1998 season will be released later. The Cavaliers other home games are with North Carolina State (Oct. 24) and North Carolina (Nov. 14). UVa’s other road games are at Georgia Tech (Oct. 17), Wake Forest (Oct. 31), Florida State (Nov. 7) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 28).
