Swimming and Diving Sweeps Villanova

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The University of Virginia women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams both defeated Villanova University Saturday afternoon (Jan. 30).
The women’s team improved its overall record to 7-0 with a 164-132 victory, while the men’s team is now 6-3 overall after winning 150-108.
Danica Wizniuk led the Virginia women by winning both the 100 (1:04.83) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.80). Wizniuk was also a member of Virginia’s winning 200-yard medley relay team.
The UVa men’s team had two double winners. Art Staddon won both the 100 (:46.90) and 200-yard freestyle (1:42.94), and Justin Capuco won both the 100 (1:00.51) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.10).
