BLACKSBURG, Va. – The University of Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up the ACC Tournament in good fashion. The men’s team finished in sixth place with 31 points, and the women’s team finished in seventh place with 44 points.

The men’s team was highlighted by Rauhn Turner who finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of (48.60). Damond Cromer finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of (1:51.90) and Aundre Oldacre finished sixth at (1:53.78). Bob Thiele recorded a fifth place finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time of (14:35.57) and teammate Matt Illian finished seventh with a time of (14:45.41). In the long jump, Marion Mason finished sixth with a distance of (7.24) meters and seventh in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of (8.40). Bill Palmer posted a sixth place finish in the one mile run with a time of (4:10.53) and Cordell Green finished eigth in the high jump with a (2.03) meter mark. The 4×400 meter relay team finished fifth with a time of (3:18.06) and the distance medley team finished seventh with a time of (10:34.86) to round out Virginia’s men’s results.

The women’s team was highlighted by Kathryn Kiladis, who finished third in the high jump with a mark of (1.70) meters and fifth in the long jump with a distance of (5.83) meters. Teammate Tiffany King recorded an eighth place finish in the long jump with a distance of (5.71) meters. Frances Warner posted a third place finish in the one mile run with a time of (4:55.39). Ann Crouse finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of (15.54) meters and Lelsie Satchell finished fourth in the 400 meter run with a time of (55.91). Cheryl Twomey recorded a sixth place finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time of (17:56.65) and Kim Turko posted a sixth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of (8.69). Libby Kluka finishedin eighth place in the shot put with a distance of (12.67) meters. The distance medley team finished fourth with a time of (12:01.67) and the 4×400 meter relay team finished fourth with a time of (3:50.53).

Virginia will compete in the IC4A meet (men) and the ECAC meet (women) on March 7-8. The IC4A meet will be held in Ithaca, N.Y. at Cornell University and the ECAC meet will be held in Boston, Mass. Individuals that will be representing Virginia include: Damond Cromer, Dave Kozicki, Bill Palmer, Bob Thiele, Rauhn Turner and Ray Weeden in the IC4A meet, and Ann Crouse, Kelly Miller, Leslie Satchell, Kim Turko and Frances Warner in the ECAC meet.
